 That depends on how you want to build your team. Both men possess extraordinary talent so it comes down to where do I start when fielding a squad. Teams in the past preferred building around dominant centers or power forwards. In today’s game they build around the most talented player regardless of position.

Some teams would prefer Curry because he’s a point guard who’s primary job is to be a coach on the floor, run sets and set up his teammates for great looks while contributing offensively and defensively. Building around a great point was at one time the preferred method. Durant on the other hand is multifaceted, he’s valuable to a team looking to be versatile at all positions. The term is referred to as positionless basketball. Due to Durant’s ability to drive or shoot as far out as 3 point range teams building around a player of that caliber invision having multiple shooters for kicks outs. It’s difficult to compare value, each man plays a position which has different responsibilities.

Curry needs a good team to be able to be as good as he current is. And he’s very good because of the Warriors. The Warriors have so many good players that Curry has a much easier time on offense and defense.

And that’s why Curry suddenly raise from a not very well known player into superstardom. And that’s also why LeBron and some other NBA players don’t like Curry very much, or as much, once Curry has become a superstar just like them. It’s because Curry didn’t earn it. Curry didn’t earn it like they do. LeBron has to grind his way into superstardom. Harden played his best in order for his team to win. While Curry has Thompson, Iguodala, Draymond. Even the Warriors back up are starters on other teams (David West, Bogut, for example). Then Curry has Durant too. And Curry has Cousins this season also.
